The MöhnetalRadweg reveals a multitude of opportunities for discovery. The Möhnetal shows its charming side, characterized by extensive floodplains, vast forests and gentle elevations. As part of the "Möhne Life" project, parts of the floodplains are being renaturalized. The restoration of flowery valley meadows and sparse riparian forests promotes the biodiversity of the low mountain valleys and enhances the nature experience for cyclists. Fans of railroad line cycling appreciate the extensive, largely gradient-free sections on the former railroad line. A striking scenic highlight is the Möhnesee, one of the largest reservoirs in North Rhine-Westphalia. The route stretches along its southern and northern shores and presents untouched nature. A wide view over the lake opens up from the dam wall, which is over 100 years old and is considered an important architectural monument in North Rhine-Westphalia. Arnsberg-Neheim offers a charming contrast to the rural course. The shopping town offers an urban ambience directly on the Ruhr, which is a welcome change.
