The HenneseeSchleife, an integral part of the SauerlandRadring, offers a varied cycle tour in Hochsauerland. It runs along former railroad lines through the charming Wennetal valley, leads into the Ruhrtal valley and follows the course of the river to the district town of Meschede. This circular tour is characterized by its family-friendly nature, cultural sights and diverse refreshment stops. To the north, the loop is connected to Meschede and Freienohl railroad stations, creating a direct link to the well-known RuhrtalRadweg. Starting point Meschede: The route first leads along the Ruhr to Wennemen and on via Berge, Eslohe and Erflinghausen to the Hennesee. A traffic-free side path leads cyclists to the dam. The Hennedamm can be explored on foot via the Himmelstreppe, which are illuminated in the evening and offer a special panorama. There are many opportunities to stop for refreshments at the Hennesee; you can also take a boat trip to relax or shorten the route along the shore. The HenneseeSchleife is currently signposted under the SauerlandRadring-Nordschleife logo, ensuring that cyclists can find their way consistently.
